Powerwash them with the wheels on the car? That doesn't eat up rubber or anything? The BMW 318 is back. With a vengeance.Comment

I have the 3 piece basketweaves which I think is more difficult to wash.....
Over here, I got the choice to send it to the car wash let them do the dirty work for USD2.50.. hhehehe
It's USD2.50 for whole car wash and vacuum as well.. But don't expect superb result. But most of the time I try to make some time to wash it and wax as well..BMWClub Malaysia

Hey I know where those tires and wheels have been. Those used to be the tires and wheels I had on my 1990 325is then put them on a 325i and then sold the car to Brent and then whamo you picked them up. Look awsome enjoy the time you will spend bending over. hahahahah

Is there special wheel wax? Or can I just use my Turtle?Originally posted by gszczyrbWax. Put some wax on the wheels after cleaning and they will be easier to clean next time around.

^^ I used to use a normal finishing wax on my wheels, but the basketweaves would be way too hard to apply wax on. I think you could use spray-on-wax, but I guess you wouldnt really want that stuff all over your braks either.~ Go Canucks Go! ~

Dont forget to armor all the treads too.Originally posted by DigitalwaveNo, as a matter of fact, pressure wash the sides of your tires too, they will be squeeky clean.Originally posted by hamann318isPowerwash them with the wheels on the car? That doesn't eat up rubber or anything?

Actually, if you use the 45 degree piece, it shouldn't hurt anything. I did it on our Dakota's wheel wells and everything was fine. :) That way there's not too much pressure going to a smaller place.Originally posted by UNHCLLDont forget to armor all the treads too.Originally posted by DigitalwaveNo, as a matter of fact, pressure wash the sides of your tires too, they will be squeeky clean.Originally posted by hamann318isPowerwash them with the wheels on the car? I just need a way to get inside where the spokes meet the rim. There's all of this brown gunk that won't come off... Toothbrush isn't doing a good job...The BMW 318 is back. With a vengeance.Comment

I have been using Zaino on my baskets because it makes them much easier to keep clean. Any decent synthetic wax should work well though. I also take my wheels off once or twice a year to give them a good cleaning.Comment
