Hold on...A 8" wide wheel almost rubs the strut housing on my et20 wheels. I think et15-20 would be ideal.

That is because you have 15" or 16" wheels.

et25 is darn near ideal for 17x8. I think Jordan has et23 17x8 Works and they clear just fine.

17 x 8 ET 25 is on my car now.

The 17 has more clearance because since the wheel is taller and the strut leans inward, there is more room the higher you go. An 18 has even more room on the inside.
