    Alpina 15" ET12 fitment question

    Hi to all,

I've just fetched some very nice wheels for my E30, Alpina 15x7 ET12, type 09.

they are the original wheels fitted on E21's Alpina, quite a rare catch.
I heard that the can fit on E30s but would like to have some of your experience...

Do you think they will fit with a -30mm lowered of the car and with 205/55-15 front and back ?

If not then maybe they can fit with 195/60-15.

I've already been to the tyres size calculators like this one :

but it doesn't tell me much about how big are the front and back wheel wells of the E30...

I am pretty sure they will fit, but if somebody with experience has tried this offset and relatively small size before, I would love to know.

You guys fit 16, 17 even 18 inches wheels on your E30 so I am pretty confident.

Hope you can have an answer for me.
    Cheers / Pierre

I just posted this on e30tech, but I am not sure which site you visit more often.

I have a set, and yes they fit. Caliper clearance in the front is a little tight, but I am running a 3mm spacer in the front anyway so it is not an issue. I have never tried 205/55, but 205/50s work well with minor fender rolling, and my car is much lower than -30mm.

To add to that, I don't think that 225s would work without major remodeling of the arches, at least not at my ride height.

            Thanks you sir,

            That is a great news...

i don't plan to use a spacer in the front but I will probably go for 185/55 or 195/55 in the front, 205/55 back.

After some research I found many pictures of E30s with those wheels.

Actually i am not with my car here so my father fetched the wheels for me.

he put them on and brake caliper clearance was fine.
in the back, no big issue.
in the front with 185/55, it will stick out 6mm more compared to my Alpina front 205/50/16 on 16x7ET28, with wheel well and suspension 100% clear, so i think I'll be fine.
with 195/55, it will stick out 11mm, with still the suspension and wheel well 100% clear so I think still acceptable.

Thank you a lot, and if you could post a picture of your car with the wheels, that would be great !

            Cheers / pierre

I'll get pics up shortly, my car is in a million pieces right now. With those tire sizes you will definitely won't have clearance problems.

                Matt,

thanks again, looking forward to the pixies...

By the way, how low was your E30 with those offsets ??

I don't know the exact numbers, as I am not sure exactly who made the springs. I would guess around -60mm.
