Wheels look good, however the tires look mismathched. The front looks way bigger than the rear.

The fronts are 235/40/17 and the rears are 245/35/17. It is an optical illusion the rolling diameters are nearly identical.

Those wheels look great; in fact your car is very sharp.

The tires look good, but I'm not too sure about "best." You would get a whole lot more grip with 235-40-17 Falken Azenis 615's all around. Those are hard to believe until you've driven a set around an autoX course.

If by identical you mean more than .5" OD.

Wheels look great, I probably would have just done 235/40 all the way around.

Yes about .5 of an inch, it is hard to get them perfect and still be on staggered rims and I need the extra contact patch for the S50 I am building. I hate unintended wheel spin. Also with the slightly higher sidewall on the front it really makes the car more predictable in understeer situations.

                  Best what, Fit?

I've had those tires, and they are hardly BEST tires out there. Good dry AND wet tire for sure, with good wear, but very bad sidewalls.

Bryson was using that exact tire on his 5-lug car, but all around (17x8.5 DSIIs). This was like 5 years ago.

Also, forget RT-615s, 235/40/17 Dunlop Z1 Star Specs would slaughter those tires. I think they're even cheaper too.

By fit I mean in the rear of a late E30 that is as low as the Coil-Overs will go and does not rub at all. I looked at the RT-615's but not the Z1's the 615's do not like the garage when it dips down to the single digits up here. I had to get as much rear tire on the car with as low a sidewall as possible. The reason that I made this post is that the 245/35/17 is soon to be phased out. I may run the 615's next year if I heat my garage.

That's true, my bad - the 615's are so 2006. The Dunlops get good reviews over at SCCAFORUMS, and are only $10 or so more than the 615's. My only defense for my post is that the 615's would grip better than the PO's original choice.

To the PO - The more I look at your wheels, the better I like them.
