    13inch Wheel Fitment

I just received Compomotives CXR 13x10 wheel specs and it looks by the measurements they just may fit. the Inner barrel is 310.7mm and has 5" backspacing. Gurus what do you think? If anyone knows how to post a pdf file I'll email it.

13" wheels won't fit an E30. They won't clear the calipers.

Well that depends. The barrel is 310.7mm and the stock rotors are 260mm so that leaves about and inch of headroom at it's highest point. I'm measuring it tomorrow to see but i highly doubt the caliper extends an inch above the rotor. It will be close none the less but should clear. These wheels are their motorsport wheels and are designed for larger brakes.

Don't you also need calipers over your rotor?

BTW Large brakes also means width of the calipers, which might hit the back of the spokes... Or at least the rounder portion where spokes meet the barrel.

Someone on here runs supposedly a 13, but i think it is the ONLY 13 that will clear the brakes

Yes, that would leave around an inch for caliper clearance. What is the distance in mm from the center of the hub to the furthest point of the caliper?

He, he. Everybody has tried to fit 13" winter wheels to their e30... 20 years ago. No fit.

Sikboy, you tend to forget that the barrels are not flat cylinders. They are curved-in near the spokes and the diameter can be dramatically reduced, especially near the area where the smaller barrel meets the spoke.

Anyway, good luck with your fitment.

Hey could I email you this pdf file of the wheel specs to get your opinion Lee? These barrels are not traditionally place. Almost like a reversed wheel. Also there is a recess in the back of the spokes for calipers.

If you can fit 13" wheels, that would be badass.

That will not lead anywhere to send me a pdf file of the profile as I don't have a tech drawing of the stock e30 brakes. Just buy the wheels and try them. If the wheels indeed fit, you will have owned us. If it doesn't, we will all have a good laugh. :pimp:

While this would make fitting wide tires easy due to not needing body work, I think that unless your car is super light, you would burn through them like mad...

That setup on an FSP 2002 would be brutal though.

255-40-13 HoHos on a ten? With the right dif ratio and the m42 in my car now might be a nice setup. Now I wonder if I could plea my way into FSP?

Alright guys, I just got to work and measured a 14x6.5 is Weave and at the smallest part of the barrel is 300mm. These wheels should work with stock calipers and leave more clearence than factory weaves.

If it doesn't, we will all have a good laugh. :pimp:
So If they do fit(which it looks like they will with even more room than stock) can I have a good laugh as well.

Do this for sure....If nothing else with that tire size out now, you could at least unload them on a miata or honda guy if they don't work out for you.
