Wheel/Tire Fitment delima - Pics Needed

I put my deposit for the ESM BBS RS Reps gold staggered set 16x7.5/9.0 and I'm having a hard time deciding what tire size to roll with. I was first going to do the toyo tr-1's with 205/45/16 and 225/40/16 in the rear. I also don't mind fender rolling either.

I kinda like the stretched look, but not too stretched, I don't want the rim hanging off the fucking edges into the concrete when I take a turn somewhat hard. I am also reconsidering the sizes to, b/c I don't wanna go too undersized either and have my speedo be all off.
(Can you get it recalibrated if you do??)

I was thinking of 195/50/16 up front and then 225/45/16 in the back. I want an even stretch with the front and rear...I don't want the back to be more then the front or vis versa...I think you get it.

I have been searching this forum for days and I can't make up my mind. Any help would be appreciated.

really depends on the exact specs of the tire & model you're after.

    Toyo T1-R specs : http://marktg.toyotires.com/file/18966.pdf

overall width is section width and based on the profile of the shoulder... you will be stretched all around... more in the rear.

7.8 section width on 7.5" will have some stretch to it as the tread width is likely closer to 7.2 ish. May end up closer to vertical sidewall.

8.9 section width on 9" will have more stretch too it as the tread width will likely be closer to 8.3 ish. Will be stretched.

Pics won't do you any good unless someone is running the same tire brand & model & size on same width & diameter of your wheels. Or at least a tire that is very close in spec.

As for gearing your revised sizes should work well.

205/50 up front and 225/45 in the rear is what I would do with those wheels.

As for sizing and the speedo, just check out this site:

          http://www.1010tires.com/tiresizecalculator.asp

You put in your current tire size and the ones you will switch to and it will show how off it will be along with a bunch of other useful facts.

Won't happen. Even with my 18x9, 215/35/18, and drifting antics.

That said, 225/45/16 is fun to think about but it's a TOUGH fit on 16x9 ET10 wheels. Like, fender flaring tough.

i see guys fit 205/45/16 on a freaking 16x9 in tire all over these boards...

i would like to go with a 245/40 in the rear if they even made a tire that size.
et10 is going to be aggressive, but hopefully can get the fenders rolled some or alot and maybe some machining done to the wheels.

so what do you recommend for my car???

Yes, they do run a 205 all the time, because a 205 isn't as wide as a 225 and thus will create more stretch w/ a 205 than a 225, making it easier to fit inside of the wheel well.

Any reason to run a narrower tire up front? There's more room in the front than in the back...

He said he had ordered a staggered set up- 16x7.5 and 16x9.

oh, I missed that. Way to go me :(

That said, I'm running 215/45 up front on a 7.5" wheel and have no problems. Same tire in the rear is rubbing on turns.

                        I think 205/50 - 225/45 would be perfect for a staggered set.

I want to do 205/50 all the way around on 15x7s.

well, I've been thinking about the exact same dillemma for a little while now and have finally settled on falken ziex 512s 205/45/16 up front and 225/40/16 rear. The overall diameter is nearly identical. Falken is one of very few companies that make a 225/40/16.

I'm also looking for a mild stretch. Here's pics that have helped me decide:

                          falken 512 205/45/16 on a 16x7.5" wheel

                          falken 512 225/40/16 on a 16x9" wheel

The stretch is pretty equal front and rear and not too extreme.

yeah, those pics I posted are not mine. The pic of the rear wheel/tire is an et25. Our ESM's will stick out 15mm further.
