    Do 205 55 15's fit on 15x8 wheels?

    Hello,

I am thinking about buying some of those 15x8 wheels from Tire Rack, but I already have some nearly brand new 205 55 15's. Will they fit the 15x8's or will they be too thin to fit the wheels?

Whats the et on the wheel you want to put them on and what suspension are you running. Photos of your car now?

My car is not lowered yet, it is stock 4x4 height. The wheels are the 15x8 wheels that Tire Rack is now selling. I think the offset is et20.

They will fit, but it will take a bit of stretching. I suggest you resell the tires you have and get some 225's

if your car is stock height, you dont want stretched tires.

205 wide tires fit on 7 inch wheels normally, and you would be putting them on 8 inch wide wheels. thats an extra inch, so it will "stretch" 1/2 inch on either side to meet the edge of the wheel.

you will have some stretch. some people run 195's on 8 inch wide wheels though...

and as e30devo said, it will look pretty silly with a stock ride height.

i really dont think they will be all that stretched. tire rack recommends up to 7.5" wheels for 205, and their recommendations are always conservative.

anyway, if you look at the TRmotorsport 15x8 wheel thread, there are pictures of 205/50/15 rt615s on the 8" wheel and they dont look stretched at all.

nah they wont look terribly streched. here is a 205 tire on a 7.5" rim: (you can barely see stretch when viewed directly from front/back) anther 1/4" on each side shouldn't be bad.

205/25.6= 8 inches. I think it will be fine. Just get a drop on that thing asap.
