I'm with you on that one too. Mostly for the same reasons as TJ, but also tire prices are rediculous, although 16" tire prices could be better too...

I dont think 17s are too large for an e30 at all. I actually think they're the perfect size, but I also think that the stock overall diameter for the e30 is much too small. Running slightly oversized gets you every tire choice you could want, street and competition. Plus, since my wheels are deep dish with oversized tires, they actually look kind small at some angles. But like I said, if you're planning big power from a new motor, 17s are the way to go in order to get a wide enough wheel/tire for enough traction. However, some 225 compeition rubber on 15" wheels with a custom upgraded brake setup depending on the kind of power you're running would be sweet.

Only problem is finding a nice looking wheel in 16". Kopis or Ronal LS in 16" would be killer. But no such Kopi exists, and you will prolly win the Louisiana State Powerball before you find a set of Ronal LS in 16".

we should get a ton of people to email ronal and try and get them to make the ls in 16s.
I bet if they got enough emails they would do it.

Ive got 17x7.5 VOLK RACING TE37s and they dont need spacers but they needed some kind of plastic ring that goes around the big mounting hole(dont know what its called), or hub i think. They are pretty light also only 15Lbs!!

Hubcentric rings, the hub center of your wheels was larger than the 57.1mm (think thats right) of the E30. It's just so the wheel sits centered on the hub, without them it can sit offset which will put the entire hub out of balance. Appart from it causing problems when driving it also wrecks wheel bearings.

I actually tried that. I asked how much, money no problem, for a one off set, and they said no way.

But that is for a one-off set. It takes a lot to make just one set of wheels. But if they were actually going to mass produce them it may be worth it for the new machinery and tooling. What about if they had a large group of consumers who actually wanted to buy a set? Like us. A petition may work. I would recommend at least 1000 signatures to change their minds. I'm sure we could find at least 1000 people on this board who would want to buy a set of 16" or 17" Ronal LSs. Myself included.

Never, ever think that E30 owners will pony up money for a new product. It never works. Whether poor or just cheap, they never come through especially for an "expensive" item like wheels. Most have trouble spending on proper maintenance, profit is in E36/E46 owners.
