    17x8.5 et20 squared fitment

Looking to get a squared set of 17x8.5 et20. Will these be a problem? And if not, do 225/40 tires work?

    thanks for any useful input

Should work just fine in the rear.
However, the front may need some persuasion. Depending on the design of the wheel spokes, it may or may not clear the front brakes. Hardware Motorsports make some top-notch spacers.
Also, nearly no one makes street-legal 225/40 r17 tires anymore. I'd stick with 215/40 in the front (for clearance purposes), and probably the same in the rear too.

Here's some good resources I used when I was trying to figure all of this out: https://tiresize.com/calculator/ https://www.willtheyfit.com/ https://support.apexraceparts.com/hc...-Fitment-Guide

Thank you! This is exactly the response I needed. The wheel spokes are pushed out (no lip) so I think the brake calipers will clear. Excellent resources you posted as well!

      Thanks again!

Also you need to consider how the wheels will fit at ride-height. For example, you may find that you have to roll your rear fenders due to your rear tires contacting the rear inner-fender lip during compression.
