235 or 245 or 255

Decision time in which tire size to get for my 17x8 et20 M-system wheels.

My current size is 235/45. I wanted to go a bit thicker, and was thinking of getting 245/45. Any pics of anyone running this size? or even 255/40?

Below is the difference in size comparison of the 2 sizes:

Try 245, and if they're staggered do the 255 in the rears.

That wheel is meant to have 235/45R17 tires for E34 application. The next step, 245/40-17, will safely fit on an 8" wide wheel, but you need to be sure the tire will clear your fenders & suspension.

Yeah, def wanted to stay away from the black centers and try something new: black chrome.

Do 255/40/17 all around. I have this size on my 17x8.5 Racing dynamics and it fits perfectly.

If you get the 17x9 rears then go big and stuff the 275s back there; otherwise run 255s. My dad ran 255s on his E34 540 6 for quite a few years before we made the jump to 275s with the 18 inch Style 5s.
