    Parts hauler....

    A quick shot from today

It has been a champ at Costco runs, and even carried its own replacement tires to get mounted the other week :D

joking aside, nice. I am looking forward to having a car with this engine soon. Anything tricky about the swap in terms of marrying the electronics?

        It's no e39 ;).

Looks sick as shit. What are the specs on that S38?

No EWS or anything, treat the harness like an M30 E34 harness (all E34 M5's were based on the 535i)

For my swap the car had an M50B25 / Automatic and I just plugged the harness into the car. Had to run 1 wire for the oil temp gauge (ETM has all that stuff) and it was done.

Amazing motors, the noise is just something to be experienced. Just keep up to speed on valve shim adjustments, and don't go about 3k until the oil is ~200F.

          Its just screams at 7000RPM

Hah, if I had an E39 I'd insist on doing an S62 swap. Fast wagons are hot!

Base specs are 310hp and 266ft tq, however I have the S38B38 exhaust camgear and Dinan software.

Dinan CLAIMS 350hp at the crank so who knows. I have driven a stock E34 M5 and I certainly have a ton more midrange power so its possible.

Dinan spec sheet on the upgrade.

E34 wagons FTW. I have one and although it isn't as sick as yours, it does do an excellent job of hauling engines, parts, groceries, and the daughter around. I love it, man!

Very nice grocery getter! The S38 is an amazing motor and in a wagon it has to make going shopping more enjoyable.

                    Cheers,

                    Jim

I agree, these engines sound like nothing else. Just keep the maint. up to date :)
