    e2i Conversion

    Sup everyone,

    I have a few questions regarding my e2i conversion. I've done tons of research and I'm confident that I can do this conversion.

    But here's my situation. I just picked up my cylinder head (89 325i) from the machine shop. Everything looks good and the compression is GREAAAT!!! But, unfortunately the shop pulled some bolts and screw from the head and put the in a bag. I have no idea what else they did. Can anyone point out to me where these screws go and if I should buy new one? If so, anyone got part numbers or even a name for em'??? Sorry, i'm lost....

    The two fully threaded studs are valve cover studs, if you look you are missing two. The other two are most likely exhaust manifold studs. The medium sleeve is for the top of the block to locate the head gasket and ultimately the head. The large and small sleeves are for the front of the head where the timing belt cover bolts onto the head. And the "missing pieces" should come with the new head seal kit or even just the valve cover gasket set.

        For the pieces the go into the end of the head...IIRC, BMW calls them rocker shaft blind plugs. They won't come with the valve cover gasket, and I can't say about a full top end gasket set, so you may need those separately.

          Those 2 longer studs actually appear to be the studs for the thermostat housing iirc they were the longest studs on the head.
          Edit.
          Upon closer inspection those long studs are definitely thermostat housing studs cuz where the housing goes the studs are missing.
          Hope that clarifies things a Lil more

            I got a set of the plugs with the top end gasket set. But you are correct they do not come with the valve cover gasket, sorry for the confusion.

                are there any special tools that I should have before starting this conversion?
                If so, let me know what I should get!!!
