As some of you may already be aware, the OE BMW custom-fit cargo mat for older Tourings is NLA. There are a few "non-skid mats" left at a few dealers, part #82 12 9 413 180, but beware, it's a just small, flimsy, pos mat that my parts guy described as something that looks like one of those rubber mats you put a dish drainer on.
WeatherTech unfortunately offers nothing for the E34 either.
I was beginning to get disappointed, but then I discovered the Hexomat custom fitted mats that come in a variety of colors:
I talked to the owner and he said these are heavy duty 3/8" thick mats that cover the entire rear cargo area. There is no picture of the Touring mat shown on the site, just a trunk pic, but you get the idea. The honeycomb recesses will hold quite a bit of liquid and/or dirt, which is nice if your wife decides to load up the back with plants or flowers. They're a little pricey at $104.95 each, but still cheaper than the OE mat that's NLA. I've talked to the owner about a group buy discount and he's agreed he could do that depending on the number interested. I'm wondering if there are enough of us that would make it worthwhile, so post up if you're interested and I'll see what happens.
