e34 525i doesn't crank at all

i was driving the whole day with no problem what so ever. i parked inside the garage and just now it won't crank at all (not even a click, nothing). i had checked all the fuses and its good. i then move on to the battery with a jump start and still nothing. i'm thinking either the dme is dead or the starter. all the power windows, doors, lights work. any suggestion?

it isn't the dme.

I just had to change my camshaft position sensor, try checking that.

is there a way to disable the ews system for an e34? i have read on other forums that you cut pin 66 (green wire) and plug in a non ews chip to disable the ews but its for e36 so i don't know if this will work for an e34.

Have u ever had a issue with your Ignition switch?

i forgot to update. i end up bypassing the ews2. now it crank so thats a good sign. all i need is a 413 red label dme chip and it should be good.
