I bought a trans for my m30 swap out of a 1985 535i.

Its marked

262.0.0510.90

According to

its a close ratio dogleg out of a 85 535.

its a euro m3 close ratio dogleg.


Am I missing something here? I never find good stuff.
The trans is out of the car, so it is really hard to tell if it has the dogleg shift pattern.

The Getrag 262 is indeed a dogleg, you are not crazy, it was an option on the M535i.

I put the shifter back together and I swear 5th is right and forward, not right and back like a dog leg should be?
