    My "new" to me 535is

I visit r3v weekly but hardly ever post. Just browse the classifieds and read up on swaps etc. However i just came across an e28 I thought I would share. I've always wanted one for the square boxy look and I snagged this one for $1500.
    -218k on a working cluster
    -5 speed
    -Cardinal Red interior
It has a few minor things I want fixed such as a dented driver front fender and the bottom of the mtech apron is missing along with a pretty ripped interior. But hey, I just couldn't pass it up.

    The day I bought it

Had some style 32's laying around, threw them on

A shot from this months Pleasant Hill BMW meet p/c Spyke

Cut the is springs almost 1/3 of the way and this is how she sits now

I'm really enjoying this car thus far and it will most likely be a budget build as I save up for another BMW in the near future.

Down the road I'll go with spax shocks and some kind of coil but just to go low for now. Hell its hard to justify spending almost as much as i spent on the car solely on suspension.

I like her. deserving of a better suspension but i know how budget builds go. they tend to bite back however.

Moving on the 32's look great! needs some spacers.

therefore, their value is much greater.

          that's the wrong attitude.

if the body is straight-ish, and the drivetrain is strong do it right.

it's not like we all started off with $10K+ 20year old e30's here...

          it's called a "build" for a reason.

cutting springs is going sideways, and downhill...

Thank you I really like the look of the staggered 32's
However I think I may be into some style 5's soon.
And yes spacers and more low pro tires in the near future.

I hear you man and even I don't like having cut springs.
I will definitely be going for coils with strong spring rates and adjustability.

Billie sports up front, stock in the rear. Really I just cut them to get rid of my tractor stance. I do auto-x the car from time to time, but my center bearing went out last race.

You can have a nice suspension on a budget. I'm on used H&R's ($120 shipped to my door) and Bilstein sports. Fronts I bought new for like $250, rears were on when I bought the car. Used sport shicks are around too, check out mye28.com

You could have a nice setup, for like $5-600 or just get lowering springs for $100 or so.

It does look good on Style 32's, too bad they are so damn heavy lol

Haha, me too man I had a slammed e39 so I couldn't do the wheel gap esp up front. Im thinking of getting Bilsteins all around but the rear isnt bad. Front is already blown and handles terribly.

I hear you man. I bought the honda coils people recommended on stanceworks for the e28. 2.5" by 7" with adjusters. Hopefully gonna get some strut housings off an e28 at pick n pull and modify them. And you're so right about the 32's man :( I took them off after blowing one out on the freeway and I just remembered your comment as I was lifting it on the side of the road!

Cool car, you should come up to Sac for some meets? It's always nice to some more old school bimmers.
