    Trying to find Previous Owner

I'm taking a chance with this. Bought a 95 Arktis Grau e34 s5x swap from a guy in Brooklyn, NY a couple months ago.
The seller was not the original owner nor the one who did the swap before he came into ownership.
He couldn't tell me much about the swap hence my search for the previous owner.
So I'm guessing from the work done and items used it's got to be a forum member from one of the sites.
I have gone the usual routes aside from doing a complete vin check.

The car is currently having an issue passing NJ emissions. So I wanted to get some background on what was done
so I can proceed to further diagnose what the issue could be.

If he or she is on the forum pm me I have a few questions

    TIA
    In it for the love

What issues is your car having with passing emissions? Those engines are pretty simple as far as emissions controls go - should be a straight forward diagnosis.

      Thanks for the reply.
You're right which is why I'm scratching my head on this.
A couple things to note (which are probably known aspects for this type of swap in a e34)
      It's a OBD I conversion, I don't have a SAP the PO deleted it.
      No CEL
I do have a turner chip. I'm not getting cat rattle.
She idles just a little above 500 (IMO 550-600)
No Chewbacca / vanos noises or anything strange (I tried to check this via others threads and Youtube.)
The car doesn't have a fuel or coolant smell to the exhaust however it's warming up slower than my old M30.
And it's quiet except for what seems to be the common s5x healthy noises (but I'll put up a video to verify this with you guys and gals)

I think that's everything. I'll add my findings as I go along.

      Anyway Emissions.

My Hc is high at idle. Actually triple the standard.

      Things I've changed so far:
      oil and oil filter
      Air filter
      Plugs
Valve cover gasket (it was leaking oil)
      Intake pipe (it was cracked)
I have a new higher temp stat and pulleys to go in.

      At my last test:

      At Idle:

Hc:634 Failed (the standard is 220)
      CO: .57
      CO2:13.4
      O2: 1.2

      At High RPM:

      HC:174 Passed
      CO: .63 Passed
      CO2: 13.7
      O2: 0.9

This was with all the items done above except the stat and pulleys

After some discussion and reading others threads about the same issue
I concluded it maybe a vac leak but so far nothing is raising it's ugly head.
That said I began looking and replacing things I felt needed replacement off the cuff to start fresh.
So I ordered new intake manifold gaskets, throttle body gasket and a head gasket just in case.

However the emissions query is just one part of the thread.
I want to hopefully find the original owner so I can get further details on the project.

If not no worries. I'm already digging into her and I'll keep plugging away till I figure this out.

Whilst the issue does not appear to be universal the development team are investigating and will hopefully be able to discover what it is that causes the problem and, more importantly, how it can be remedied.
