I saw this recently in a very small town near me. Craigslist ad.
"1987 BMW 535i 4door, automatic, sunroof, am/fm cd, leather. This car is in terrific condition inside and out, has not issues. It comes with 3 sets of tires and rims, aftermarket, studded snows and stock. This is a great little car and is ready for its forever home."
173,000, clean title, auto (this doesn't bug me as it would be more of a highway cruiser). Tan leather in good shape, one split on driver's seat.
Doesn't sound like they kept much for records, she just "fixed whatever needed fixing." Had it 5 years.
$4000.
What says r3v? I have some cheap and rough 528e's in my neighborhood - same engine as my son's 325es in a heavier car. The 535is is just too much skirts & spoilers for that classic shape - makes it look heavy. An i is just right, even with an auto. Euro bumpers would make it perfect.
