Did a short little job today.

    Not sure how this happened...

Now the flash makes it look like it doesn't match but in regular light it does. Also I cleaned those paw prints off it too with AFTA. :)

I've completely given up on the M52TU. Check engine light will not go away, plus it only makes 190HP stock. It's wimpy. So I bought a parts car. Meet Gertrude...

      :)

      And this...

      Money, money, money...

So the plan is and for my school senior project, to make a E39 530i/5 Speed wagon, a car that was never imported into the United States. M54 powered now :).

Mike and I did a 3.0 swap in his old 528iT years ago. It's still running great for his brother. over 125k later. :)

All the M52TU electronics just plug right in and will run it fine.

Haha guys, your giving me the motivation to figure the wiring out. The plan is because the M52 has a cable driven throttle, to pull all the electronics also for the clutch safety switch along with the brake light switch and pedal, and just swap them over. Also the DME, and EWS.

Do yourself a favor and change the oil filter housing gasket, oil separator, and DISA now so its just taken care of

You are making your life ten times harder than it needs to be. Drop the bare long block in, and put the 2.8 manifold and electronics on. You'll sacrifice maybe a couple hp off the top end, probably gain a little torque, and not have to do a chassis harness and electronic transplant.

The MS42 runs an M54 just fine. They are for all intents and purposes the same motors.

Edit: And this way you still have the "cable" throttle, which is very much worth sacrificing a couple hp for.

I'm going to chase the electronic throttle harness out along with the clutch safety switch and brake light switch to the plugs that go to the DME, and just inlay those plugs in the existing harness that's in the wagon.

Truth. Also replace the lines going to/from the oil separator as they will likely be cracked/leaking as well.

Ok haven't updated in forever but here we go...

                                Swappin' Diffs

Wanted to take some shots of the old wiring...

                                Scrap motor

Didn't get any photos but the 530i motor got put in right as the sun set.

Decided to take a step back and do rear sway links.

                                Noice..

                                New vs. Old

                                Bye...

Much better even though they made no difference.

Had to swap fuel rails because the 530i uses one line and the 528i uses two. Worked perfect in the end.

Decided to run powersteering through the ATF cooler.

                                Bye bye this...

Did all new power steering lines and reservoir.

Then I swapped over all the new breather system stuff...

And put in the electric throttle body.

                                It in.

Replaced the broken one way jet valve.

                                Put a E60 545i Sport Shifter. MMMMMM

                                More new shifter parts.

Chased it out and back to the DME
                                Here it is...
