    is this a good buy?

ok so i didnt know where to post this so im sorry if its in the wrong spot.

but my question is if this is a good buy.

it is an automatic alpine white 325i with paint and interior close to excellent condition. no dings or dents and has a clean title. it just needs a new water pump, right side door wont open >.< and ABS light is on and replacement of the glove box. it has 197k miles on it and is selling for $1000 let me know what you guys think because im going down there to seal the deal. im not a big fan of auto but for that price do you guys think its a good buy? here are some pictures of it.

For 1k that's a really good buy, IMO. Do you or the owner know what is wrong with the door?

Yes, log off now, go buy it. That is a steal, even if you just rip it apart and sell it for parts you're going to make a profit.

What's the going rate for a 5-speed swap nowadays?

That's what passes for excellent paint these days?

Look at the terrible shut lines around the boot. JTFC

needs h2O pump? I would be suspect of it needing more than that...

Offer $400 go no higher than $600...

I've seen cars in worse condition go for 2K+, with the grand he can save there should be plenty for a tranny and parts replacement.

I always assumed it was customary to change the water pump/timing belt/belt tensioner as soon as you buy an e30 anyway.

If the water pump is known bad, then chance are the way they found out about that is by overheating the engine. Does the car run? A compression check would definitely be in order if possible.

I have ocean front property for sale in Arizona, are you interested in it at a steal of a deal in this economy too? ;)

Yes it is customary to change those items when buying a e30 BUT the quote below is why I would be suspect of the car with a KNOWN BAD h2o pump...

You won't see that in california.

I echo what Atomic said, I don't think I'd go higher than $700.
