    door lock replacement question

So i bought an 89 e30 and it only unlocks from the trunk. turning the key from the trunk locks/unlocks the entire car so the central locking system is fine. Should i be looking to replace the door lock cylinders, and if so, is there a way to replace both driver and passenger locks while still keeping my same existing key? part numbers or links would be much appreciated!! Thanks

I'm kinda going through a similar rectification on my car. Same symptoms until not even the trunk would work. What I've found so far is a broken driver door cylinder.
Both fcp euro and ecs have replacement cylinders for both sides. Any cylinder can be matched to any key is how I understand it. You arrange the shims? In the same sequence as your existing cylinder. There are some straight forward video tutorials out there.

I put remote Keyless Entry Door Lock Unlock Kits in all my e30's because I didn't have the key for the doors. Works great!

Does the passenger side luck/unlock the doors? There is a 'micro-switch' in the drivers door that, when activated, locks and unlocks the doors.
