          Shop says it looks like it can be welded, it just pulled the bracket with the brace off the body, funny I was told that didn't ever happen and the body shop says they see it all the time.

          Good news I have a spare diff and got a deal on a new DL.

              The body shop welded it up and repainted it all for $200 but thanks for the suggestion ;). DL is comming today and I took the diff down to the shop yesterday. Car should be done by this weekend.

                  i did the same thing kinda.....

                  welded my small housing open 4.10 and drifted on it for a while with my m42. then i put in the m20 and finished the season last year with it. and this year it exploded.

                        yep, seen that happen before, buddy and I were running some back roads in NC and he caught air in his M535i on one of the roller coaster twisties and when the rear wheels hit the ground it trashed the diff, a big case diff too boot...
                        major amounts of tq applied at speed....
                        sucks, I feel your pain dude, glad you got it fixed...
