Hi,
I recently bought an 1990 318i auto (m40) which was part way through an engine swap to the m10b18 (manual). Most of the mechanical work has been done leaving me to finish mostly the wiring. The problem I have come across is that the engine has the old style square c101 plug whereas the body has the round c101 plug. I was wondering if I could just repin the square plug to the round plug or if I would have to do something different. Looking on e30 zone it seems like the round connector has all the wires the square connector has except for pins 10 and 17 on the square plug which are "Live power from ignition" and reset service lights. What would I have to do with these. Also are there any wires from the round plug I would have to wire elsewhere in the engine. Sorry if I haven't been clear enough in the description, I am new to the e30 platform/working on cars altogether.
Thanks
