    Cheap, FIA mount, fixed backs?

    Where can I find some cheap fixed back race seats that will mount using Massive's mounts?

    I don't care about super cool fabrics/logos or long distance comfort. These would go in the weekend of an Auto-X/HPDE and then come back out after the even and I'll drive in the sport seats on the street.

    Although if I could find a smoking deal on comfy ones, I'd be tempted to just leave them in the car all the time.

    *Do not turn this thread into a harness/rollbar/fixed back seat discussion.*

    Cheap seats could be Corbeau's FX. They are around $300usd and look good. They might not have the best ergonomy for long trips though. Maybe others can chime in.

    As far as the rollcage-harness debate, you don't need a harness and rollbar to use a fixed back seat. Your three-point belt is fine as long as the seat doesn't interfere with its action and that your pelvis (not your tummy) is properly held by the lap belt. Most likely you need to use a rear seat latch to use as you front tranny-side latch to pass within the seat's opening. Not over the seat bolster.
    Brake harder. Go faster. No shit.

        Fuck Corbeaus.

        Get a pair of Cobra Imola II's. The GT width if you've got bigger hips.

        You'll leave them in all the time. Trust me. They're INCREDIBLY comfortable.

          ^Any links for where to get a good deal on them?

          Lee, I'm going to put a 4 pt rollbar and harness in the car one the swap is done, then just use the stock seats and belts for DD use. And use the harnesses for and fixed back for events.

            Corbeau is not FIA approved IIRC. Look on Ebay. I found a really good deal on a used Sparco EVO.

              Just looked those up, $1100 for a pair isn't what I was thinking when I say cheap.

                Are you sure you need FIA-approved seats for autocross? If not, there are many great options, including aluminum seats from Kirkey or Ultra-Shield.

                  Don't need FIA seats, but they make my mounting otions much easier and allow me to keep the seat lower, than fitting rails.

                    I have Momo Start seats in my Miata. Comfortable enough, FIA rated, and fairly cheap. You may have to search around a little to find them though.. I think they may be discontinued.

                    Crappy pic, but it'll get you started;

                        Why would you build a better car for your girl? ;)
