What is this plug? Located behind the cluster

Pulled my cluster to paint the needles red and replace the speedometer. There was one plug that was loose and I did not pull it from the cluster. Does anyone know what it is and where it goes? My speedo, tach, gas & temp gauge all work fine.

The only thing that does not work is the odometer & trip, which didn't work to start out with. Any inputs??

I'm certain it does. But the thing is, this wire is all the way behind where the cluster. Just seeing how long it is, it would seem that it attaches someplace behind the cluster. Its not long enough to reach to the door.

Not the mirrors, not a plug for the cluster.

I don't know what the hell it is, BMW OEM plugs don't index like that.

                      Abandoned aftermarket alarm shit?

SRS plugs are ALL orange (It's the law... Or at least it was the law).

                              Nope...its an 88, no airbag.

Also, no aftermarket alarm type electronics in this car.
