I've got all the major parts except the radiator, booster, DME chip.

All the other stuff nickel and dimes you to death.

If someone would buy my Zapco amp it would help! Probably going to sell my black leather ski pass through rear seat as well.

I had the temptation at one point to push down my car down hill just to drive it again. But hey I was in high school so it was hard finding time between sports, work, and the gf. You should be really close to being done.

OK 14 months, I'll beat that. The M20 blew up back in late January and I'm hoping to be done with the swap at the end of next month beginning of June.

    How about a boosted s52?

Finnish your project. I almost did the samthing you are doing right now but I am really happy that I stuck with it. It all pays off in the end when you first drive it with open headers. Nothing beats that. O and my swap took me 14 months.

You're FK, just kinda frustrating I don't have the couple Gs just sitting around NOW to just get it over with.

That's the plan, get EVERYTHING, then we are going to spend a weekend resealing the motor while swapping it to OBD-I, reseal the trans and bolt up the clutch setup and bolt the trans to the engine. Then the next weekend we will put it in the car.

+1 on having EVERYTHING you need before you start the swap. can go from running m20 to running s52 in a couple days that way.

i had an m20turbo... look what i'm building now! it's becoming a trend now... all the old turbo guys are starting 24v turbo projects

    Awesome, carry on then.

You do know how satisfied you will be when this "build-phase" is complete. It's worth a few months of downtime.

One afternoon with brake caliper/engine enamel, and you can acheve the same effect. Time, you can save on, quality parts, don't skimp. That's a week of Down Time waiting for the PC guys.

Mainly cause I know I can get it PCd before my stuff gets back from GC. And I should be able to swing a good price since the company does a ton of business with where I work.

Also you will only get back 60% of what you have spent thus far for selling the swap parts in this shit economy, so do work son...

You are really only a few days from driving your car. The trick to getting these swaps done is amassing ALL the parts you'll need ahead of time. It really is a simple swap.
