Got 3 tickets while I had my euro plate on. Got rid of that stupid fucking thing, and now have no plate, for about a year, not even a nod.

HATE FRONT PLATES!!!! While I was in FL I used just one plate and a smoke cover on the back. Never had any problems... I think front plates kill looks. I wanted to register my car in fl to get one rear plate. And do w.e. I want to my car. Straight pipe.

I got a front plate ticket, $216. It went back on about an hour later with zip ties (now bolted on properly.) I guess they don't give fix it tickets around here.

I live literally 3 minutes from work and directly across the street from the cop shop, I was pulling out of my driveway and he was straight ahead of me at their driveway. He follow me to work, parked next to me, flipped his lights on and wrote me the ticket.
All of my work buddies watched in disbelief as none of their cars have front plates and the cop didn't say shit to them.

edit: i havnt had a front plate for close to 4 years, this is and was the only time i got bothered about it, and Ive been pulled over many times.

I'm now front plate-less but I don't think it even matters in Reno

I have never run a front plate on my cars. Here in SA, they usually won't pull you over solely because of the front plate. If you get pulled over for some other violation, they will check the front and issue a fix-it ticket.

I think front plates are useless. I've never had an instance where I thought "if I had my front plate it would help out the cops".
But it doesn't look like this law will be removed anytime soon, even with the petition going on here.

I haven't had any. I am not dumb though. My slammed E30 has plates while the normal cars like the stock F150 or Mercedes sedan or any other non attention getting sedan doesn't catch the eyes of cops.

Knock on wood, running a Euro front plate in cop infested NJ for over 2 years and no tickets... I did get a noise violation in my former catless E28 though. He also pointed out the front tires were missing tread on their outer edges :)

If I lived literally 3 minutes from work I would just walk

Having the plate on the dash is just stupid looking, why have it lying around cluttering the dash when there's a spot designed for it on the front bumper?

And giving it up for a euro plate is even dumber... Why replace the plate you are legally supposed to use with another, BIGGER, plate that you paid money for?!

I did drive with my front plate tucked under the passenger seat for a while, and I never got a ticket but a couple of warnings (just said I was getting back from some body shop work, and had yet to reattach the bracket), I realized it wasn't worth the anxiety or hassle.

Put the stupid front plate on. All you're doing is giving the cop a reason to pick you over a group of other cars. It's a simple moneymaking ticket for them, and you're making it even easier.

None, thankfully North Carolina doesn't make us run front license plates. I'm super glad though, because that would block the air flow from getting into my engine bay and it would catch ablaze every three or four miles.

On a serious note, it doesn't make a lot of sense to be willing to pay the tickets/fines as opposed to drilling the two screws and running the front license plate. It's not like anyone on this forum should be remotely worried about a front license plate ruining the image of their car.

California law wants the front plate on the front bumper (not on the dash where sunlight reflection can block the numbers from being read by a traffic camera)

If you insist on running without a front plate, keep it in the car and if you get pulled over, tell the cop you just finished taking pics of the car because it's going up for sale. It helps if your car is nice and clean and has recently been detailed.

Lay it on thick - bad economy, need to sell my car because I was laid off a year ago and am broke, unemployment ran out, etc...

They just might cut you a break if you play it right.

I have a BMP plate filler and haven't gotten pulled over. Before I had the plate filler I was still rocking no plate. I had been pulled over several times by police while I had an electrical issue and they would check to see if I had a headlight out too...each time instead of saying anything about a plate they'd say "well your headlights are fine..." and just tell me to fix my fuses.
