dude that is some nasty cancer!

i'd bring it to the bodyshop and have them cut and weld new metal. there's no miracles here.

how much do you value your car? this is enough to trash an e30 that you dont care much for, but if you really want to keep it, it's repairable. it will cost a bit, but it's not any harder (actually easier) than repairing a with an accidented strut tower.

some sheet metal + welding can fix almost anything.

Salted roads FTMFL. Much of that is just a residue trail, but there's some daylight. The hardest part of that fix is gonna be getting yourself in the trunk to work on it. Not cause for scrappage. Put 'er on stands and cut out with a cutoff wheel until you stop finding rust. Then find a parts car and cut out the same chunk, but add at least an inch all the way around. Trim to fit, and weld it in.

Remember - problems are a chance to upgrade. Weld some support bars there to the other tower and trunk pan and you'll feel better about whatever you spend!

it is not that hard of a repair, but i can be time consuming if you don't know what you are doing. before you dive in to it, look over the eest of the car for more serious rust elsewhere, that should help you in your decision to do the work

Ya I've pretty much done that... there were some pretty serious rust issues on the fenders but I just swapped em and that was that... the other towers are tip top, just the drivers side is fucked....

Be a man and save it. Any butt pirate can scrap a car. I heard a rumor that they don't even make these cars anymore.

That doesn't look to bad its repairable just take your time and make lots of support points and maybe custom make a rear strut tower while your at it. Thats my two cents
