Are front fenders the same on coupe and vert?

I need a new front fender on my 87 coupe and I found a used vert front fender in good shape at a good price but owner is unsure of the year.
Can I use this or are they specific to the body style? Does it have to be an 87?

No, Vert and m3 fenders are unique, coupe and sedan are interchangeable.

Uh, not exactly. Pretty sure vert fenders from any year will bolt on to other E30s, but the vert lower trim will be obnoxious to work with unless you're doing a repaint.

I'd imagine that M3 fenders would bolt on too, but I have never personally tried.

I mean any fender will fit on any model with enough work, but i mean unique more like they clearly look different and may need work vs the coupe and sedan ones are identical. I feel like I saw someone selling m3 fenders recently that were on a facelift coupe, I dont know if there was any trimming or work needed.

I think I will stay away from fenders from verts and M3s, but what about the years of coupes and sedans? Should I avoid newer years and stick with 87 and older?
