    WTF is going on?!?!

Driving to the grocery store to pick up some grub and on the way there my e-brake light, abs light, battery light and my brake fluid light came on. I thought alright must be some random wiring issue. Coming back, right before i got home one of my coolant hoses broke free of the radiator and was just steaming all over the place. This left ME steaming. has anyone seen this before. Whats going on?

    Thanks

sounds like you broke your water pump/alternator belt, and it got hot and blew through the house.....maybe

Yep, I'd bet that the belt broke and the lack of current from the alt caused your lights to do that. The lack of waterflow superheated your coolant and made the hose burst.

Did you take the initiative to see if the belt is still there?

Now that you say it it makes perfect sense. I havn't checked the belt but it has to be it. I'm gonna need a new radiator too. looks like the week spot in the coolant system was the fitting on the radiator on the top rh side.

Thanks guys, I'll check the belt when I get off work this morning.

you nailed it, alternator belt, gone, radiator busted. By tomorrow afternoon both my charging system and cooling system should be up and running. Thanks for the rational thinking!

And it helps to have enough info in the diagnosis. OP did that. Gold medals for everyone!
