I think there were a few 528d models that made it over in the early 80s.

There is a 3.0d X5 at the Zentrum in Spartanburg, SC. Been around here for a couple years. But if you're talking about e30's in general, I'm not one who could answer that for you.

I see 524td e28's around town from time to time, oddly enough I always see e30's around the 524's too, maybe they are chasing it to steal the crankshaft :D

Well i have been kicking around the biodeisel conversion on a diesel engine and thought I would be best to use a BMW because they are a solid car. With limited parts probably be rough to find what I need, I refuse to use a VW because i hate working on them but will see, anybody now how hard it would be to swap a diesel engine in?

There are a few 524td's around. However, they have a big problem with the heads cracking. They cracked more often than not.

I know a wrecker who has 5 of those heads, and 4 are trash :(

                  AMEN!!!

i HATE my 91 GTI, but would also like a diesel Bimmer... 524td use m20's right? That would be a swap into an e30 [already said] but might not be worth the effort. Keep in mine all the fuel supply items that would need changed, and getting all the gas out of anything you would be using from the donar chassis

Lincoln Continentals 84-86 are turbo diesels that BMW made so I might use one of those engiens I will see how if they are easier to get. Unfortantly i am thinking about getting a VW because they are easy to get
