        M60B40 is in my 540I If that car wasn't in such awesome condition I might consider putting it in my E30.

          m60b30 and m60b40. Came in the 530i and 540i's respectively. The m30 is a straight 6 that came in the 535i.

                  An m60b30 would be pointless to swap into an e30. Close to the same power you get with an m50 or m30 but way more complicated to do.

                    +1 on that, I'd guess the M60B30 is very similar in weight and size to the M60B40, why not just go with the latter if you insist on a V8?

                      isnt the m60b30 prone to some crazy problems also? im not sure, but i heard that from an owner of one.

                          yes, the early m60 had some kind of Nickel alloy blocks that erroded with sulfer-laden US-grade fuel.

                          and the b30 = FAIL, it only had 215hp

                          European E34 535is got a V8 too (M60B35 amirite?)
                          it was really an m62, and introducted in the e39/e38s, not the e34
                          1989 cirrisblau-metallic 325i
