You gotta take the VC off and inspect. I don't think it'll take more than 5-10 minutes to take it off, no???

In the time it took you to post that you could have whipped the valve cover off and had a look. Is this a car you are looking at buying? Edmonton BMW or Bavaria?

If you are serious about buying it they should let you pop the valve cover off regardless of whether its at a dealer or not.

Also that sound could be poorly adjusted valves plus an exhaust leak.

dude if it had a broken rocker it wouldn't be firing on all cylinders it would sound like a total bag of shit. It needs a valve adjustment that is all.

Wrong. Often time rockers will break off at the very end and will still open the valve a little.

well this is the car that i will be trading my E32 for(if it doesn't have a broken rocker arms), i am going there with my tool kit. i will try to convince the sales men or even talk to the manager to let me inspect the car.

when i was there yesterday, i tried to convince the sales men to take off the valve cover, but he refused to do so.

              -huss

*edit* it's at lexus Edmonton. asking price is $7900.

You're trading your E32 for that shitbox? And I didn't think it was possible to downgrade from where you are...

I stand corrected, maybe I should just bite my tongue. funny since I just read that Johnny cash guys thread about exactly that. I guess I am that asshole.

$7900 is wayyy high though i wouldn't do it dealerships always price these cars too high, it isn't even a plastic bumper car fer chris' sake also I would have a good long look for rust it looks like the car has been repainted so you never know what might be hiding under there, believe me there is no feeling worse than seeing a nice new perfect looking paint job start bubbling because it got a cheap spray job to up the selling price.
