    Las Vegas, NV Help

    Hi!

So my parents and I have a 1987 & 1990 325ic that I recently (this week) purchased, and both need maintenance... ><

Any suggestions for places to go to get this done in Las Vegas, NV? Please keep in mind I'm a poor college student w/ cheap parents...

    Thanks for your help!

There are no cheap shops as they charge full retail for parts and 60 to 100 bucks an hour for labor. If you feel like driving 6 hrs north I can help you or if you don't want to do that I might be able to meet in St. George at my moms house and do some wrenching there, but you would have to make it worth my while!

If you're going to own an E30, learn how to do the basics otherwise you will get killed by the shops.

Remember, these cars are 20 years old and while the drivetrain is rock solid, little things start to go after 20 years so learn to do as much as you can.

I have stacks of reciepts from the previous owners of my car and they spent a ton of money on basic repairs and maintenance, which really takes away from the enjoyment of these cars.

Paying a shop $240.00 to replace the clutch fan is just throwing money away, yet one of the PO's did that and much more.

If you're poor and have cheap parents you need to learn how to fix the inevitable little things that will need to be fixed on these 20 year old cars.

Instead of paying a shop $240 bucks for a minor repair, spend $200 on tools and $40 for the above pictured Bentley service manual and you will save yourself a ton of money in the long run.

There are also people here who will help you if you help yourself.

        Good luck.
