    Germany: Pik-a-Part

    Hi,

I'm an e30 newbie, but want to start looking for parts while I'm living in Germany. I'm in Augsburg near Munich.

I know that junk yards and pick N pulls aren't very common, but maybe I'm wrong. A friend of mine from the 2002 crowd mentioned that there was a yard on the Ramstein Airbase. I'm a teacher at an International School so I don't have the credentials to get on base. Is there anyone out there that is currently stationed at Ramstein that could get me on base so I could go to the yard? I could also give a little bit of money to whoever can help me out.

I'd be stoked if someone out there could help me.

    Thanks for looking.

Forget about the base entirely. If you have connections, are fluent in German, have access to tools and a way to get parts back to the US, then maybe you might find a thing or two.
Otherwise, forget it and dont even bother getting your hopes up.

Thanks for the info. I'll have to ask around and see if I can find some local cars that are ready to be hauled away. Alot of tourings in town and surprisingly in good shape too. Time to call in favors.

Good luck with that. If anyone is doing away with vehicles, they are more than likely utilizing them for the government stimulus/automotive boost/evironmental concern package in trade of a new car.
