    Chrome Exhaust Tip

I have the stock chrome exhaust tip for my m10 and I know it's a slide on tip. My mechanic put it on and put a block of wood over the end of it and hammered the tip onto the tailpipe to get it on, but how do I get it off to replace it? I don't want to just start pulling or i'll pull the whole exhaust off...

    any tips?

I tapped mine off with a piece of wood trim from the rear on the lip, came off fine

^^ that's the way to do it. I've seen someone use a gear puller with padded feet before too, but I can't remember exactly how they did it.

you do the same thing as the mechanic did but from the opposite side hoping that the tip will move in the opposite direction so you can remove it. might help to have two people and have someone pulling on it with a padded pair of pliers or a clamp, marks shouldn't be seen if you grab onto the bottom of the tip.

push the muffler with your feet pull the tip with your hands. If that doesn't work, see above.

If they are factory BMW tips, you just slide them on. Otherwise, you gotta figure it out yourself. Check the instructions that came with them.

Try some heat, torch, heat gun, maybe PB Blaster, i would try to spin it first, then pull
