    Transmission ?

Just want to get a opinion on this problem a friend is having with his car. It is a 89 autotragic. The car actually has to get warm up when driving for the transmission to shift out of first. You have to actually drive a ways for it to change gears? Anybody have an idea what is going on?

yea, its a big problem. Its called a zf4hp22

check the fluid level, and maybe change the filter. The goveners on the 4hp22s stick when cold, and thats just that. Fresh fluid helps, but the problem will be there a little still on really cold mornings.

          Morning sickness.

Age and heat harden seals on clutch pistons. It's really common on older stuff.
