I figured I would just post it because A) it involved kids less than half my age B) because no one has ever made the correlation between my car and me being gay, and C) because someone else had that non-enthusiast thread going, and i wave to other german car drivers all the time, and have similar negative reactions. so i was just curious if the gay thing ever came up too

a dude i knew in highschool with a red vert got called gay by all random strangers but all the 15-17 year old girls at school loved his car. i deal with redneck types all the time as i work in contracting and no ones ever said anything about my car except a few guys who have complimented it and knew it had a 6 cylinder. most people dont even know its a BMW/care. if it was a newer model im sure id get more razzing but not necessarily gay jokes. that really sucks when kids are calling you gay, i bet that bummed you out. will you still be honking hello at them?

For what its worth, my g/f works at a bank, and she says every BMW that goes to the drive up has a gay driver behind the wheel.

I have to say....I wonder even more about this guy that lives near me and has the license plate "LoneGMan" or something like that. He kinda waved at me one day and since then I have been avoiding his 5-series like the plague thinking that the G stands for gay and he is looking for some company.
