That sounds like walking the streets of Venice...That it does. L.A. now is MUCH MUCH better than when I was gangbangin in the early to mid 90's. I think we topped out at 1100 gang related homicides in '92. Now were at about 2-300. You couldnt walk down the street with your colors on and have a real chance at living too long. For the longest time, I neither believed or had interest in living past 30. That prediction has almost come true too many times. But Im still here and Im almost at 30. Trippy stuff.

I've got way too many homies that are gone cuz of that bull shit. glad I got out while I could.
PS: I got my 4dr e30 5spd for 800. 230k miles and still runs like a champ! needs paint though. If you're looking for cheap you're gonna have so sacrifice somewhere...Leave a comment:

Haha. No, Yompton is a nickname that I call the city of Youngstown because for most of my life, we've been in the top 3 in murders per capita and violent crime statistics. In 1996, we were averaging a little over 1 a day in a city with less than 70K people. They were very close to calling in the National Guard to patrol the streets. It's not a place that you would choose to live, much like Compton. However, Compton has much better weather.Leave a comment:

Nope, I'm in Ohio also. BMW's are pretty rare here unless you're near CLE, COL, CIN. Even then, you've got a slim chance of finding a clean e30. I'm currently looking for an alpinweiB e30 M3 from Cali or some other place that's rust free.Leave a comment:

Great advice. Are you in Sur L.A.? Theres TONS of E30s in used lots down there.Just skip the search in the midwest. Buy a plane ticket to SoCal, and drive one back home. The last time that I was out there, I couldn't believe the amount of BMW's that they had. If you picked up an auto trader magazine, there were at least 20 pages worth of BMW's. There are so many more sitting on corner car lots that they don't bother listing nationwide. In just day, or maybe two, of driving around and you would have a pretty good chance of finding what you're looking for.

wow... i just stumbled into mine. traded a beat up 86 vw gti for it. p.o. wanted the gti because the e30 was too intimidating for him. other than faded paint on the hood and roof, and a leaky output shaft seal, mine is spectacular.Leave a comment:

I picked up an 89 325i 4dr 5spd for about 1800 with a brand new head on it a while back. They are out there, just have to keep your eyes open.Leave a comment:
