I built a custom gauge cluster but for my 2002, out of Autometer gauges and two shrouded green LED's to use as turn indicators. Probably spent about $450 on it, gauge sets aren't cheap.

Does anyone even make a blank gauge panel for an e30? So that way you could cut out what you wanted for what ever gauges you want to put in there.

Electric speedo, it'll do what it wants if I wiggle the case around but goes to 0 with power :)

They're part of Autometers Street Rod Classic Black line. #1408 for the quad gauge and speedometer/odo, and #1490 for the 8k tach. I underestimated the $450 earlier, #1408 is $400 by itself, and #1490 was 120, plus a sheet of ABS plastic from TAP plastics, some Devcon Plastic Welder epoxy, that circle cutting tool for the drill press that it's sitting on, and I did buy my new dremel kit at the same time to help with cutting up the pieces. Shit just starts getting expensive.

make your own with a sheet of aluminum/plastic/CF in the stock cluster, cut out the center of the cluster leaving 1/2" around the edge to attach the panel to, make a cardboard panel to get the size correct and use cardboard cutouts to layout the gauge sizes and positions

here is the cluster i built for my shark

i ended up using one of the abs sensors to run the speedo but otherwise it works nice, if i boost it i figured out a pattern where i can fit a 5th small gauge in using the cutouts
