Make sure your working space is clean and clutter free

The topic says it all... When you're working on a bench, make sure there is nothing in any possible path your hand can travel, even a seeminly harmless pipewrench can reak havok on your hand if it slips...

Just ask my little finger, its being held together by 7 stitches after a wrench slipped while working on my strut housing today, a pipewrench cut clean through my mechanix glove and most of the muscle/fat in my finger...

Just felt like bitching and warning those of you who dont practice proper shop safety :)

i had the metal around the wiper arm covers kick my ass. Cut open the top of my hand next to the pinky finger. DIdnt hurt but was not pleasant.

I had a to get stitches so it would heal as it kept seperating when i moved my fingers as it was down in crevice of the finger.

damn right, still dont have any feeling(doubt i ever will) but yea, going to the emergency room holding your finger on sucks. esp. when some fat ass bitch that "doesnt feel good" is in front of you

                Shitty, sorry to hear that.

A kid at work the other night slipped on a freshly mopped floor, caught himself with his arm on a stainless-steel sink, and put a gash big enough to get 6 stitches in his arm. I'm sure he can sympathize. Never seen someones face so red and so much blood. ugh

hey man don't diss the duct tape. i've sliced my hand twice, but i only butterflied them and taped the shit out of them until they healed. the only time i've ever had to get stitches (9, to be exact) was when i fell on my chin skateboarding from a 2 foot tall ledge (lean back when coming out of a 5-0). it sucks ASS to get an anesthesia shot in your chin. i could feel the fatass needle go into my skin, come through the hole, and then go back in the other side. i was shaking violently the whole time he was injecting me, not to mention when they were scrubbing the inside of my chin to clean all the little rocks out of the wound.

accidents can be brutal so don't forget to protect your noodle!!!1 (in all aspects of life)

been there, felt that, never doing at again. only, when they sewed up my left leg for the frist time i had no pain killers, they didnt even have the option of giving me the anesthesia shot because they didnt want to fuck with my blood pressure any worse. yet, dealing with the needle going back and forth was the least of my worries. the sterylization shit was the worst, it burns like acid, and when your entire leg has been thrashed, that burn is rather large. amoung the cuts and slices were 4 obliterated major tendons and major cartelege damage, so yea, the stiches were the last thing on my mind.

*sigh* damnit, i just stirred up some memories. well, i may as well continue the rant/story to tell your kids when they start driving.

want a fucked up feeling? crush your right kneecap into about a billion piece's, and make your quad completely detach from the top of the cap. then stick 5 large needles one by one into the now exploded joint syphoning out the blood/fluid that made your knee swell to the size of a small watermellon. and if you dont pass out from that, immediatally after when you see people leaving the ER with your blood on their shoes the thought of "will this ever end" changes to "am i ever going to walk again?" From there, when your lying on the table looking up at those lights chokeing on your own blood, not being able to see how bad you look because of a neck brace and people holding you down, feeling stiches rolling back and forth through your leg dont really concern you.

waking up the next day finding out you almost died in your sleep is another kick in the ass.
74/28 was my blood pressure when they first injected me with morphein. my bloodpressure went from near heat attack rates to 74/28 in a matter of 20 seconds.
and if you dont know anything about bloodpressure, my grandmothers last beat on her death bed was 58/21. (R.I.P nana)

im not trying to sound like a dick... but you dont even know the meaning of shaking violently because of pain. i squeazed bruises in my own palms.

wow, that was one hell of a rant. im not trying to offend anyone here or start a contest or something... i just felt like getting that off my chest.
