so I was out getting drunk tonight having some beers (pardon my typing) when I got into a discussion about motors. I had a kid with a subby 2.5rs say that his car was faster than my 332i, then he disclosed that it was getting an sti swap. I asked "how fast are we going" and he said i'd beat you at any speed. I said 100+ is game over for an sti. Then a kid with an intregra with an ls block with cams said that his car would def smoke my 332i (would put pinks on it) tried to fight me. It was possibly the most uneducated car discussion i've ever had. I know an STI is fast, but we all know they die at higher speeds and an integra with an ls black and cams has no chance in hell against a stock m3 motor let alone one with mods and about 240whp. It ended with me leaving and kids callling me "fag." The best part about the whole thing is that the kid with the integra said his compressioin was 3:1.

I said is that with 60 psi or what. He said " its na" hahahahahaha

I love honda kids. I respect a fast honda but I'd race him for pinks and miss a gear and still win. It was so stupid.

I fucked with a new civic SI with mods and dusted it to 80 by about 5 cars. Bring on your ls block with cams. I'll take a free teggy any day of the week.

It was a casual conversation that just went wrong. Kids were 22-23. I'm 26. It did sound like a high school conversation. I was like dude I understand that hondas can be quick, but I'm sorry to say that your car is not s52 quick. The STI kid was swapping into a 2.5rs. I'm sure he updated his suspension and brakes. We didn't get into that at all. I think they were more drunk than I and rather uneducated. I don't race anyway. I fuck around when I'm out driving a bit, but nothing serious.

Unfortunetely there was only one other kid there that I knew at all really. I knew all the girlies. He laughed about the 3:1 compression. He was like dude only if you're running 60 psi. Kid knows his stuff. He rebuild and boosted his eclipse so props for that.

I actually didn't have my car at this party and was also in no condition to drive probably even a golf cart. It got even better when they said that my daddy bought my car for me. I said for god sakes I'm 26 years old I don't think my dad bought my car. Either of them for that matter.

funny stuff, theres a couple kids like that in my area. one kid has a 90s pontiac grand prix and says that he got a chip that gave him 180hp, oh and his power kicks in some where between 4500rpm and 7000rpm. its auto and he says it will shift at 7000... Everyone hates him.

i was at my friend's the other day and his little brother (17) had one of his friends over and they were doing underglow in the wheel wheels and the kid goes "is that your bmw?" pointing to my car, and then when i said yes said "cute" with a smug smile of satisfaction.

17 year old kid.. pony tail... silver dodge status sxt (or something like that) with BIG gaudy rims and underglow in the wheel wells. It still makes me smile when i think of it.

I don't understand how it gets into a cock swinging contest. I was simply asking about his car and when people are blatently wrong it's hard to agree with them. I typically don't talk shop with anyone because none of my friends are at all into cars. I just read on here and other forums.

I almost bought a civic hatch at some point so I got pretty educated on the civic/acura engine setups. I wasn't going into that one blind. Some of those dudes are up in the 220+ whp area NA. Its pretty impressive but it takes a complete build.

Sounds like you've never driven an STi or Evo. Yes they have pretty short gearing (which is part of the reason they accelerate so explosively) and yes they have tons of drag (due to all the cooling and aero). But that doesn't mean they "die" at high speeds. I could easily hit 135 MPH on the back straight of Mosport and the car is still pulling hard. I'm sure the top speed isn't much short of BMW's restricted 155 MPH.

I've never driven and sti or evo, but I did drive my friends dads heavily modded wrx. You might be right. I've just read that m3's almost always overtake them at higher speeds. I secretly love sti's and evo's. Kinda think I'm more of an evo guy myself.
