    M51, m21 swap

    is it possible? How hard would it be?

      into what?

      an e30 I assume?

      m21 wouldn't be that bad, as e30 324d/td's came with them stock

      m51 might be a little harder, but I'm sure its possable

                  M21 is... well... slow as hell. Things like turbo upgrade are not worth the money spent.
                  M51 - better, but by any means not economy car.

                  If you want a diesel in E30 try M45 - probably lots of work, but you get an economy diesel with some power to go.
