Has Robbert gotten off his ass yet?

I want to see a Dyno Run of the Mark D chip... wtf is taking so long?
Just pony up and dyno it already.

I'm sure Mark is waiting as well right???

    I'm at school. Geez.

The cheapest 3 run + wideband I can find is $100.....but let's see if I cannot bargain with the shop or something. (I wish I had a relationship like Rob has where he does)

Damn, I just remembered I should replace the 02 sensor, but need a special socket or something. And oil is being changed this weekend. Chris, I don't want to go back if everything isn't working at its peak. (ie stock airbox and intake tube in place and in, fouled spark plugs replaced, AFM restored to where it should have been (messed with before last dyno run), etc etc.)

I take from Rob a shot guibo won't make a difference. What about anything else?

Likely a can of Sea Foam will find its way into the tank before I make another run, but it feels a lot stronger than before. Much stronger.
Even putting back the AFM wheel made a big difference over my last dyno run. Like low 15s 1/4 mile versus 15.6 previous best, with significant trap speed increase.

But with the chip, everything is definately stronger, faster, more pep, and easier to put the rear out.

you dont need a special socket, just rip that silly heat shield off around it and unscrew it with a plumbers wrench

I tried with some vise grips/another adjustable wrench and couldn't get the torque on it. I'll try plumbers wrench tommorrow.

I want to. But I'd like to for $60 again rather than $100. Or free. But some of us aren't so lucky.

Man, no offense but if I was Mark D. and I sent you a chip with the agreement you'd dyno it... I'd be getting pretty irked over the fact you're dragging your feet...

              Just my $.02 though

I don't know what deal Rob was trying to work out with the man, but I didn't make an agreement to dyno it. Jay just let me get a pre-release copy of the chip before anyone else. I didn't promise I was going it to dyno it, but it is something I do want to do.

Jay is friends with him, and he was giving the chip a test run, and I had been bugging Jay about the chip, so he let me in on a pre-release copy. Also, I had a JC chip in to compare to. But there was never any agreement to dyno it, that I am aware of.

And so why are you so convinced I am going back on a non-existant agreement? When I dyno it, it will be for myself, and the benefit to the community, and a return of good favor to Mark D for letting me have an advance copy.....not being committed to it.

In addition, I don't know why you are trying to drag out private business transactions on a public forum. If you had any concerns, try AIM. Just my $.02.

Only because it appeard to myself, and others apparently that you had agreed to dyno it.

                    that is all.
i hold no judgement on what actions/clauses/agreement you made.

But typically when a tuner offers a part for pre-release there are clauses that go along with it... "there is no such thing as a free lunch"

Well, Chris.....hate to say it, but when you make assumptions......

Jay and I were simply gunea pigs, from way I saw it. I was very thankful for the opportunity to test out his chip and he probably enjoyed having us review.
"I hope that the chip works better than the JC chip you have. I don't have one here to compare with. I'll be interested in your feedback."
It wasn't a free lunch, but rather just a benefit of knowing someone who is friends with the tuner. Mark D was able to hear a comparison between his chip and JC, and I got to be the first one in the states to rock his new chip. Seems win-win.

But as far as assuming there was a clause to dyno test it.....that is a false assumption. It's cool man, shit happens.

I am going to hope to "get off my ass" and dyno it soon, but I don't have the benefit of free dyno runs like Rob, and looking around to save $.
