Holy cow - just switched to mozilla foxfire - SO MUCH BETTER

My work PC was awefully infected with pop ups and what not - (still is)

But just a quick download of fox fire and I can surf all I want WITH NO POP UPS....amazing. Thanks alot Microsoft for making me deal with pop ups. I'll always keep a copy of internet explorer around (web design) but for me it's fox fire all the way....

      Firefox is great.

Statistics show that 88.8% of R3V members use IE, and 6% use Firefox.

      I use firefox.

Now get Firefox M3 and watch your browsing get even faster.

wait a minute. You do web design, and NEVER HAD a copy of firefox?? Have you tried any other browser? have you ever done testing on a Mac? (If you mean amateur web design, nevermind, sorry. But design for firefox anyway, it's more standards compliant.)

Hah, I just dont like messing around for 500000 hours to get Slackware setup to COMPILE things.
I have tried them all. The best?
Very basic Mandrake, then add all your goodies (webmin, apache, samba, vncserver, vsftpd, dchpd, yadda yadda) Also, when I started running 10.0, it was one of I think 3 distros out that was running that new fangled 2.6 kernel.
Right now, my version (10.0 community) is running 2.6.3-7.
Not too bad, really was worth the upgrade from slackware, that POS.
                        oh, PS: Gentoo blows
                        Disto wars commence indeed!

[A worthy edit: When I am setting up my linux servers for clients, I cant sit around all day and mess with a problem (well, I can, but why) on install, and when no other distro would install without be having to sit there and babysit the damn thing (read: slackware). Fedora core's new public release has a nasty little problem: when I d/led their instal CD's, there were corrupt. Tried all 6 mirrors at the time, no dice on any one. ]

Gentoo rocks your socks off. RPM is the worst designed system for upgrading. If you've ever used BSD, you know how awesome Ports are. Love sources are also awesome.
The BMW 318 is back. With a vengeance.

who the hell uses RPM's :D
                            tar -zxvf, that simple.
Portage is sweet, I will give you that, but I really have no problems using drakupdate.

                              My current fave slashdot sig:

I won't ever leave debian. apt-get owns. I can install security fixes on 10 servers spread around 2 locations with nothing more than a cron job, since stable promises not to break anything. ever....But I have nothing against crashing, really, go right ahead.
