    Help with M-Tech interior

I recently purchased the mtech blau interior pictured in this thread. It's totally complete and I could swap it in at any time. The only problem is that I have a rear seat with armrest and headrests and I really want to adapt the M-Tech rear seat cover to fit it. However, I don't have enough anthracite cloth to cover the armrest and rear headrest (the seller sent me an extra headrest in anthracite, so I only need to cover one). He also sent a couple scraps of the anthracite cloth, but not enough to do an entire headrest. So, what should I do

One option I'm considering is dyeing the leather armrest anthracite to match the rest of the seat. And then I could use the cloth from the center of the M-Tech rear seat to cover the rear headrest. The only problem is that there would be seam. Any other suggestions?

If you really want to do it, just buy more cloth. Don't mess around with dying the leather, it won't look good. And I don't know if the blue mtech cloth is available, but the headrests would look best in that color instead of anthracite.

Finding the matching cloth would be the solution, but it's pretty unlikely that that's going to happen as I've been told that it's NLA. Another member was looking for it a while back and never got his hands on any. But I'll keep an eye out.

The extra headrest I received is already wrapped in matching cloth so I only need enough cloth to wrap one headrest. If I dye the armrest instead of partially wrapping it in the mtech cloth from the center of the rear seat, I could instead use the mtech cloth to cover the headrest, but there would be a seam (you can see the split down the center of the mtech seat cover). But this may be my best solution baring discovering mtech cloth for sale. Or maybe I'll come a across an Mtech headrest.

Lastly, I was told that the background color of the mtech blau cloth is anthracite, but I'm not positive that that's correct. It looks more bluish grey.

From the looks of it Rob took a e30 touring back seat and sewed it up to make it fit a standard e30 rear seat. All those cloths are NLA. As far as the center armrest goes you might want to pick the darker of the 2 blues in the stripes and cover it in a color that will match.

Great suggestion, thanks. I was thinking I could also use a blue that matches the piping, but that blue is a little gaudy. I like your idea better.

Who ever sews it will need to use the same material for the sides of the insides as well.

You had PMed me about some more headrests. I can get some. The whole rear seat out of a touring really. LMK if you need the fabric from the rear seat too.

Thanks, I think it will much better with the headrest/armrest rear seat and maybe some matching shift and e-brake boot. Actually, I was kicking around the idea of swapping out all the black vinyl pieces (like the door cards) for blue leather. Tricked 323i said he could do all the stitching.
