    Should I buy this E30?

First of all, the odometer is broken at 223,000. I opened the hood and there was a yellow film covering the intake manifold. Bronzit. Don't know when the last timing belt change was...Thats it for the bad. Pros are that its cheap, $1000, its a 325i, it shifts and runs really smooth, passed smog, and i saw bilsteins under the car (could be HDs though). Its a 4 door. I'm kinda curious what that yellow film is... Tell me what you guys think.

Yellow film isnt anything at all to worry about. EVERY e30 has it. Its nothing that a little power purple cant take care of and a pressure washer.
    Buy it up...

I think you should give it a try.

The BMW E30 model is the basis for the 1984 through 1991 BMW 3 Series entry-level luxury car / compact executive car. The E30 was the first 3-Series car to be fitted with an onboard service indicator, comprised of an LED bargraph plus Inspection and Oil Service warning lights. I think you should give it a try.

drive it around and see if you can hear any funny noises. If i were you, I'd change out the timing belt as soon as you get it, as well as all the fluids.

What year? I'm in the bay area too (san mateo)
