Racing tires typically have a stiff enough sidewall that stretching wouldn't really add anything, you are just decreasing tread width.

Here, I'll draw my own picture as well.

depends on the used i mean of course for daily driving i rather have the appropriate tire size.

I'm not either, exposing the rim of the wheel looks pretty stupid to me. In fact I will probably never run them.

But it does improve the response of the tire.

i guess you E30 guys don't understand stretching tires it mainly for fitment a lot of drifters run 18 *9 or 10 or 11 etc and there cars are slammed so run wider tires with less sidewall. Then theirs the people that use stretched tires for show.:p me personality i like stretched tires when one right.

That's cute. Did you draw that up yourself?

Take a close look; you may notice that the tire actually appears ballooned out if anything.

I allways thought people with these crazy stretched tires could put a belt on the outer wheel lip and then power farm implements off of the spinning wheel.

Personaly i don't like the stretched look. Mariano's M3 is about the limits of stretch that looks good imo.

I don't get why people think this. What are you going to save by going with a 20 or 30mm narrower section width? Maybe 20 bucks a tire? So what, a whole 10% savings?

It's not at all about money.

Not by a longshot, but good try. Unless you quoted tde30 by accident and intended it for the op, in which case i would agree.
