What can you get searched for?

First off I dont want any shit like "I hate cops" bla bla bla. Just answer the question ;)

Well Im wondering when they can and cant search your car. I want to be informed if I have to. Thats about it.

    I bombed Korea every night.

they have to have probable cause, to search. and they have to ask your permission if there isnt probable cause. like if they just pulled you over for a tail light, theyd have to ask permission. If you say NO, i dont think they can do much. I'll ask my brother, he used to be a cop.

Well how would you define probable cause? If it smells funny is that probable cause or does it have to be something bigger?

But if you say, "No." I'd be afraid of the scare tactic and the possiblity of hauling your ass down to the station to get butt raped.

              i have herd different things.
a friend of mine has been pulled over and asked to be searched like 10 times and he has said no every time... and he hasnt ever been searched.
although another friend of mine got pulled over one time for expired tags and too loud of a muffler. the cop asked to search the car and my bud said no, but the cop searched anyway because his probably cause was that the kid said no. apparently (in his case) if u say no... thats the probable cause right there. catch-22... damn cops.

probable cause is when the cops suspect you of any criminal activity, like if they think the car was stolen then they can search your car, but if they just 'think' you were smokin pot or whatever i dont think thats good enough for probable cause.

i asked my brother last night and he says, that
"if you say no, they keep questioning you to see how your react, or demeanor is. If you dont shows signs of nervousness, then they likely wouldnt search with "probable cause" so, if you have nothing to hide, dont sweat it. so, they can pretty much search you if they wanted to or not. IMO. ive been searched before. I had no problem with it.. once i got pulled over for "no license plate light," then i didnt have my insurance card.. he asked to search, i said yes, he found nothing.. he let me off with just a warning.. i heard later that he was one of the worst cops to get pulled over by.

Just be sure to at least use the shift boot secret stash compartment....it is a frequently overlooked stash spot.

When it comes down to it, it is the cops word over yours. if he says he has probable cause, he will search anyway. probable cause can be something as stupid as touching the yellow or whit lines on the road, or frequently looking in your rear view....
Cops do what they want and higher officials will go with their word over yours...

And it really shouldn't be an issue unless you are doing something wrong 8) .
Don't put yourself in that position.

You realize that is perhaps one of the most common and frequently searched places in an E30?
