anybody running on a modded or removed guibo?

I started a thread in the "transmission and driveline" sub but I gets no love

I hate to repost this in another section but this is the one thing I havent been able to search for...

I was wondering how many of youm are running your e30's without guibo's or flex disc...

I went to a car meet over the weekend and saw an e36 with no guibo but what looked like miniature motor mounts bolted to each individual hole connecting the output flange to the driveshaft....

I was thinkin of doing a similar mod but I'm a lil iffy and worried about the stress to the flange....

Can you guys post some research or pics?

also whats the daily drive like with this setup?

lmk and thanks for any help..

There are definately people on the board who run with no guibo. I personally run with one though...

I have contemplated a aluminum disc many a times. I wouldn't need it, but there is a market for it. and it would be easy to make if you had a shop. along with that disc you could put urethane inserts.. its just such a simple idea im surprised there isnt one.

            you're right...

I've been thinkin about heading to a steel shop and havin them sell me a chunk of aluminum and drilling it for me.

but then I would have to worry about balance and such.

think i'm gonna cut the current guibo and see what I come up with

because jointed ones are a pain.

I half assed posted, I wish I had more power, a 6spd, 3.23lsd, and a solid drive shaft

I tend to drive my car like its stolen on a daily basis...

Don't we all. But in reality, you don't need most of that stuff. You can be pretty damn sure that you're not losing any of your hard-earned horsepower to your flex disc, just leave it where it is before you break something much more expensive and harder to get to.

                              This is good advice.

BUT, if it were to be made, you definitely wouldn't want to just "go to a metal shop and buy a chunk and have them drill it".
